IF you have seen local men sporting a single polished fingernail and been confused, we may be able to provide some clarity.

The finger bling is part of YGAP’s Polished Man campaign, which is raising awareness of violence against children.

Cockburn Central’s Glamour Nail Bar is one local company getting behind the push, painting a nail in exchange for a donation to the cause.

Co-owner Jani Schaper said the nail specialists got behind the campaign last year and had already seen further support this time around.

“There’s been a few dads come in with their daughters, and husbands come in with their wives,” she said.

“Secretly, I think they like to be pampered.”

Ms Shaper and her fellow co-owners threw their support behind the cause having previously volunteered with at-risk youth.

“We’ve seen the type of things young people go through,” she said.

“It’s a side that a lot of other people don’t know about.”
