Red Cap Day to honour South Fremantle players past and present

Jessica NicoFremantle Gazette

THERE will be a sea of red caps at Fremantle Oval this weekend as the South Fremantle Football Club honours past players who have pulled on the red and white over the years.

Only the second time in its history the club has held such an event, more than 500 past players were recognised in the inaugural Red Cap Day in 2003.

South Fremantle corporate partnership manager Cameron Palmer said all past players recognised on Saturday night would be given a cap with their representative number on it.

“As a footy club, we recognise and remember premiership teams well, but a lot of great players of the club never played in premierships,” he said.
