The Eliza Ponds residents will be celebrating the national Neighbour Day with an Easter egg hunt for the children and a meet and greet for the adults.

Neighbour Day is an annual event celebrating and promoting community and getting to know the neighbours, held on the last Sunday of March.

Cockburn councillor Lyndsey Sweetman said the City of Cockburn encouraged others in the area to get together and register an event.

“Neighbour Day is a fantastic opportunity to connect with those who live around you, particularly in a new estate like ours, where not everyone is a familiar face,” she said.

“We are hoping for a great turnout from households in the Eliza Ponds and Ocean Road estates and surrounds.

“Events like these are a great way to start building a really connected neighbourhood, which has benefits in safety and security, inclusivity and resilience for the long term.”

Registered events can receive food vouchers and invitation cards.
