Right Freo Royale treat

Jessica NicoFremantle Gazette

ENJOY double the fun at next year’s Freo Royale, with twice as many local venues and performers set to transform the already art-entrenched port town into a must-visit Fringe Festival destination.

Following a packed inaugural event this year, Freo Royale organisers Vulture Culture has stuffed even more entertainment into the 11-day program that runs alongside the Fringe World festival.

The bill includes a raft of comedic, circus, burlesque, musical and visual art acts, performing at 16 quintessentially Fremantle venues.

Vulture Culture director Ronan Freeburn said thousands bought tickets or attended the Kings Square Common pop up bar during the last Freo Royale.

“We’re even more excited for 2016 and I can say without a shadow of a doubt we have more big name performers at this year’s festival that will captivate audiences,” he said.

“Many of our Fringe acts are exclusive to Fremantle, so you wont be able to catch them anywhere else.”

Fremantle mayor Brad Pettitt said in true Freo style, there would be something for everyone.

“Almost 7000 patrons jointed the festivities at last year’s inaugural event and with that kind of patronage and twice as many venues and performances planned for 2016, it’s evident that a part of Fringe belongs in Freo,” he said.
