East Fremantle river foreshore master plan open for comment

The draft master plan was created to give the Town a roadmap to protecting the foreshore and lessen the impact erosion would have on the environmental, recreational, aesthetic and cultural values of the foreshore.

The Town is looking to move on from maintaining the foreshore on an as-needed basis.

It intends to use the master plan to guide future development and better deal with the growing demand for the area.

Issues such as the alignment of Riverside Road, the sale of Leeuwin Barracks and demand for recreational areas are all included in the draft master plan.
