Kwinana Freeway southbound from Armadale Road to Russell and Gibbs roads will be widened, one of two announcements made today.
The other was that the Russell Road bridge is also set to be widened as part of the Aubin Grove Train Station project.
The State and Federal Governments will split the $14.9 million cost to widen an extra 3km of the freeway from Armadale Road to Russell Road.
The tender for the build will be awarded mid-year, with the work expected to be finished 12 months later.
