Supported by organisations such as the Rocky Bay Foundation, Life Without Barriers, YMCA and the Swan Friendship Club, the children of varying abilities joined up with 12 contemporary groups for the event.

Music Rocks Australia founder Dean Blanchard said they were grateful to the Fly for giving them the opportunity.

‘To have a venue that allows such a professional performance opportunity for children and adults of all abilities is of inestimable personal, social and musical value for everyone involved,’ he said.

‘The sense of occasion is also not lost on all our young musicians and their families at the military drill hall, which is such a point of difference from the other concert venues.’
