LOCALS can skate and boogie their way back to the time of disco.
Suzette Collective along with Geraldine Rey and Nelly Reffet have organised a French Disco and Roller Night at O’Connor’s Rolloways on June 13.
Miss Rey said it all started with a mutual friend who was pregnant and frustrated about not being able to go out.
“She loves roller skating and one day she dared us basically to organise something like this,” she said.
“Now she has given birth so she might actually be able to come along.
“There has been a huge interest at the moment, people love the disco years and French disco has always been part of the golden years for French music, a lot of people really appreciate it.
“Most people know a lot of French disco but they don’t realise they know it, people will hear songs that they are familiar with.”
Miss Reffet said the event was to encourage good old fashioned fun.
“It’s different to what we usually do with going to the pubs and movies,” she said.
“It’s open to all, its non-judgemental and it’s about having fun in a different context.
“You don’t have to wear micro shorts or to come dressed as if you are out of a 70s movie.”
The event is designed to be family friendly, pre sale tickets only.
