NORTH Fremantle Primary School students spread the message of peace and love during a visit from the Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run recently.

The peace run is a global torch relay that aims to spread peace and friendship from country to country.

The torch runners stopped off at North Fremantle Primary and a handful of other schools during a short trip to WA.

North Fremantle principal Janine Bersan said the school had supported the event for several years.

“The school supports this event because we all want world peace and it gives our students the opportunity to participate in this noble cause by joining with millions of others who have held the peace torch,” she said.

“The students enjoyed the opportunity to meet the Peace Team and share their own thoughts and peace poems.

“Education is the key to uniting nations, bringing human beings closely together.

“It is important for students to contribute to building a culture of peace and this was an excellent opportunity for our students to join with other members of the community who are contributing to the development of a culture of peace.”
