THE 2017 school year is shaping up as a special one for Phoenix Primary School.

That is because the Phoenix Road school is set to welcome three sets of identical twins.

Even more remarkable is that Emma and Lucy Guthrie, Dwayne and James Williams, and Amber and Jazmin Ryding-Ramirez will all take their place among the school’s kindergarten students.

Principal Margaret Pretty said it was an exciting time.

“People expect, because they are identical, that they will be the same,” she said.

“But they are individuals with their own personality.”

Ms Pretty said her staff would have little trouble telling students apart.

“Teachers are very good at working out traits very early,” she said.
