Police said the 30-year-old woman was walking along Knock Place towards the Cockburn Train Station about 7pm last Tuesday when a silver Holden Commodore pulled up along side her and a man got out of the vehicle.

The man is then alleged to have threatened the woman with a blade before physically forcing her into his car.

The woman managed to escape when the man walked back to the driver’s side of the car. He then fled in his vehicle into the Jandakot commercial area.

Kardinya man Timothy Colin Williams appeared in Fremantle Magistrates Court last Friday, charged by Fremantle Detectives with deprivation of liberty and threats to kill.

The 30-year-old will be remanded until another court appearance on September 5.

Detective constable Jesse Stirrat said the victim was shaken but not physically hurt in the incident.

‘It’s a timely reminder for all members of the public to be aware of their surroundings and exercise caution when moving around in their day to day activities,’ he said.
