Ms Cole started with the Gazette in 1989 and began developing a rapport with the community from day one.
‘When she started, there was no computer, no mobile phones,’ Community Newspaper Group sales director Christine Sutherland said.
‘When we first entered the future, it was when we got a fax machine.’
Ms Sutherland said Ms Cole’s hard work, relationship building and networking were used as a case study for Community Newspaper Group sales representatives all over the metropolitan area.
Ms Cole said she considered herself the luckiest person in the world to have had excellent colleagues, bosses and clients for such a long time.
