Former LPT 2 leader Sergeant Stuart Ford moved from the Spearwood station to a new post with the Regional Operations Group in Rockingham.

Cockburns LPT 3 leader Sergeant Nicole Ford has also left for a new role as an events co-ordinator with the South Metropolitan District Office.

She said career opportunities and family commitments prompted the move.

Acting Sergeant Kate Henry has stepped into looking after Coogee, North Coogee and Spearwood until a full-time replacement is found.

She said the aim was to remain community focused, increase crime prevention awareness around crime hot spots and engage more with local schools.

Sergeant Dave Eaton will step into the LPT 2 hot seat, covering Hamilton Hill, after making the move south from Fremantle Police Station.

Sgt Eaton said he was looking to follow on the work done by Stuart Ford by building relationships with the community and targeting local issues.

Under the new operating model I feel the key to success is focussing on what is important to the local community and the only way to do this is to make ourselves accessible to them, he said.
