Students took part in casualty handling training last Monday afternoon with Cockburn SES at their base in Cockburn Central.
Principal Donna |McDonald said students used the course each year to branch out and to gain a range of different skills.
‘Students chose to be a part of the program because it offers a wealth of hands-on opportunities for students to learn first aid, emergency response procedures and survival skills,’ she said.
‘(Long-term), students hope to become contributing members of our community and gain recognition for their learning and leadership.
‘Often the experiences they have as cadets help them decide what career paths they wish to take in the future.’
