STUDENTS at Beaconsfield Primary School got a taste of history recently when a group of former students visited them for morning tea.
The school is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year and called on former students to help the celebrations with photos and memorabilia from their time at the school.
As a thank you, current students held a morning tea for the group and were able to ask them questions about how their time at school was different to how school is today.
Deputy principal Bhavneet Singh said the students were able to get a better understanding of what life was like at the school from as far back as the 1960s.
“Kids are inquisitive by nature and this has been a great opportunity for them to ask questions and compare what life and school was like in the past,” she said.
“History is a curriculum focus and a huge part of discovering who we are and how we came to be where we are.
“We hope that students will feel a sense of pride in the wonderful history of their school and develop an understanding of what life was like and how things have evolved.”
