Students urged to take a walk for health

The national initiative is in its 16th year and looks to teach students the benefits to their health, road safety awareness and the environment that walking instead of driving can bring.

Fremantle primary principal HaydenO'Mara said the event was a mainstay on their calendar.

"With our central location and the number of children that live within close proximity to school, this initiative allows Fremantle PS to highlight the importance of road safety and awareness coupled with an emphasis on active lifestyle choices," he said.
