THERE will be a new voice representing the people of Success with the local residents’ association re-forming.

About 30 residents attended a meet and greet on July 6 where 12 people signed on to bring the association back to life for the first time since 2012.

An AGM has been pencilled in for August 8 to decide official positions.

Key driver Corey Gaidzionis, known for his work with other local community groups and Project ReCycle, has put his hand up for the presidency.

He said the initial meeting, which was also attended by Cockburn MLA Fran Logan and councillor Phil Eva, had shown there was plenty of issues to get stuck into.

Among them are traffic concerns around the freeway and shopping centre, damage to homes from dust, and organising a local Christmas carols.

“It’s very exciting to be part of the group,” he said.

“To have 30 people turn up and get 12 to register to be part of the group moving forward is a fantastic outcome and great start.”

The group will meet every second Wednesday of each month at the Cockburn Youth Centre.
