Run by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC), participants learn about buying from sustainable fisheries and restaurants that serve quality sustainable seafood meals.

MSC spokeswoman Charlotte Connell said the event was established to reward fisheries and retailers for harvesting and serving sustainable seafood.

‘The health of the ocean matters; our seas connect every continent and shape every coast,’ she said.

‘If we want to maintain these valuable resources for the near future and future generations, we need to choose sustainable seafood options and reward those fisheries that are reducing their impact on the environment.’
