JAMES Kjellgren-Lewis has overcome injury to be selected to represent WA for the second time at the School Sport Australia National Triathlon Championships.

The Seton Catholic College Year 9 student will be flying to the Sunshine Coast to compete in May and said he was happy to have made the cut again.

“I was really surprised, I was just going through an injury with my groin when I was selected,” he said.

“I took time in the off season and did a lot of physiotherapy sessions and slowly got better, now I am all good and ready.

“I have a new coach and he is aware if you don’t do school or work you can’t go to training, so that’s been good.”

James said the competition last year had been very competitive.

“I did really well in the run and cycle stages,” he said.

“Since I am in the youngest in my age group I will try and be in the top half of competitors.

“The atmosphere at last year’s competition was great, hanging out with my team mates was really good.”
