ENJOY an after-work get together with a difference when Arty P’Arty launches in Perth this month.

The brainchild of Fremantle women Alvina Doremus and Sophia Davidson, the event will have the usual cocktail party air about it, while giving attendees the chance to try their hand at fun new trades including Bachata dance, drawing caricatures or learning circus tricks with the help of Fremantle-based Circus WA.

Ms Doremus said there would be six mini workshops to keep everyone entertained.

“We enjoy going out at night and wanted to design an after-work event that consisted of more than just drinks,” she said.

“We like to engage ourselves in a new activity and believe adults should laugh and be silly; it’s good for the soul.

“Art is an amazing outlet and stress reliever and ice breaker, which makes it the perfect canvas for a networking and mingling event.”

She said while this month’s event was a trial, they hoped it would become popular enough to hold every two months.

Arty P’Arty will be at the Perth Town Hall on September 30.
