Teachers chalk up care points

Mr Williams is taking part in the event as part of a team, which would see them cover more than 200km in October.

They will be joining forces with a number of musical acts at the Railway Hotel for the Rock for Cancer to raise money to help those affected by cancer.

Mr Williams said he himself played in a band and did a lot of charity gigs, so it was a good way to get a couple of local bands involved.

‘We’ve got three bands playing on the night starting with Murphy’s Somethin’s Come a Gutza, ATM and then my band The Remakes,’ he said.

‘There will be a great mix of music and while all this is happening the Crack Cycling Team will be conducting some raffles and possibly recruiting new team members.

‘Ultimately the aim is to raise money for the WA Institute for Medical Research and the great work that they do.’

Rock for Cancer is at the Railway Hotel on August 31 from 8pm.

Tickets are $10 at the door.
