Jandakot Stock and Pet Supplies owner Margaret Orr said thieves stole a pallet of Royal Canin dog food, which she estimated to be worth about $5000.

The business suffered a similar theft last November.

‘It makes it really hard for small businesses when things like this happen,’ she said.

The business will tick over five years of operation in March, and while Ms Orr said things had improved over that time, she was still a little worried what she might find when she gets to work.

‘We do our best to protect ourselves with lights, security and things like that and we do have insurance, but it’s really frustrating,’ she said.

‘We’ve had lots of instances of broken windows and graffiti. On this occasion we’re thinking they got in and hand loaded packets of the food into the back of a vehicle, so they didn’t even need a forklift.’
