Thursday night delight at centre

It’s hoped the relaxed atmosphere will entice commuters, residents and people on their way home from work to the area. It is part of a strategy to bring more life to the centre.

Each week a live band or soloist will perform on the grassed area, while bocce and a giant jenga set will also be available for people to use.

Leah Grant from three-piece band Leah Emily Grant said the evenings, which begin at 5.30pm and are BYO-|approved, were a great way to chill out at the end of the working day.

‘We’ve had some good musical performances so far. It’s all pretty light but it’s good for people wanting to come down with their picnic gear or stop by after work,’ she said.

‘It’s also a great way of using the available space and people seem to be enjoying it.’
