Traffic warden (74) hit by car in Fremantle

A 74-year-old traffic warden was hit by a car on Tuesday.

Police said the warden was carrying out his duties at 3.10pm near the intersection of Ord and Ellen Streets in Fremantle.

He stepped out onto the road to assist a group of children cross the road, when he was hit by a vehicle.

The female driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene.

The warden was taken to Royal Perth Hospital and remains in hospital being treated for abrasions and further examination.
