For the past eight years, Kay Leek (89) has volunteered for one day a week to provide some extra help to students at Bibra Lake Primary School.

“Sometimes the classes are too big or they can’t concentrate and they get a little lost; I just help them with reading, writing, sometimes a little maths,” she said.

Ms Leek, a resident of Bibra Lake’s Lakeside Village, took up the role after seeing a flyer calling for mentors.
