Locals took up the call to help Ms Hsu create a roomful of sandcastles in one of the centres galleries as part of her Waterland exhibition.
Ms Hsu said it was interesting to see how people were drawn to the sand inside the gallery.
Im looking forward to seeing how people will respond to the work and the sound installation in the second week of the exhibition when the sandcastles are built and the exhibition is still, with people no longer able to make sandcastles, she said.
It’s not common to play with sand in a gallery, or to listen to the sounds of the ocean through loudspeakers.
There will also be some good stories related to the ocean that youll be able to hear.
