Volunteers pull together to support the less fortunate

Together for the event were more than 40 of the centre's neighbours, supporters, volunteers, clients and donors to enjoy a bite and a cup of tea while learning more about the work the centre does to help the homeless and those in need.

St Patrick's deputy chief executive Michael Piu said the Starlight Hotel Choir provided entertainment while the attendees chatted.

"We had everyone from neighbours to politicians to other agencies here," he said.

"Staff, volunteers and clients were all on hand to talk about what we do here so we're thrilled to see such a good turnout."

The centre also offered a free three-course lunch on Friday.
