Wilson will keep Cockburn secure

Councillors agreed last Thursday to pay the security provider $2.2 million per annum for the next three years, with an option to extend.

The company has run the service since mid-2010.

Community services manager Rob Avard said Wilson Security was a clear standout among eight other applicants to provide five marked patrol vehicles 24 hours a days, 365 days a year.

Wilson offers a lower risk capability in providing the required vehicles and officers needed for (the year-round service), with the required infrastructure and back-end services needed already established and in full operation, he said.
