The women from Tasocs United, including Spearwood resident Dianne Henderson, will make up a tiny portion of the 8800 competitors expected to converge on Geelong for |the Australian Masters Games.

The Games are one of Australia’s largest multi sporting events, with everything from athletics, cycling and golf to ultimate frisbee on offer to anyone older than 30.

Team coach Laurine Baggott, whose team will be aiming for military-style precision, said the big numbers would not intimidate her team.

‘I always aim to win,’ she said.

‘Some people say the Masters Games should not be competitive and that it should just be about fun, but I don’t believe in that. I’m always aiming to be the best I can.’
