Yangebup Carols by Candlelight organisers turn to crowdfunding for event funds

THE team behind the Carols by Candlelight event planned for Yangebup on December 3 are chasing funding to support it.

The Yangebup Progress Association (YPA) had hoped to secure a grant, but it never eventuated.

A GoFundMe page has since been set up, with the aim of securing a further $3600 to make the event happen.

YPA president Chontelle Sands said the group was working hard to offer a free evening of entertainment because the area often missed large community events.

“It’s not been without struggles,” she said.

“We are currently $3600 short and are seeking donations from wherever we can to make this happen.”

She said the event was a collective collaboration featuring local choirs, church groups and other community bodies.
