SOME summer holiday fun became extra special for Coogee seven-year-old Jacob Wood, who won his family an overnight stay in Fremantle.

A treasure hunt through town during the Fremantle Business Improvement District’s #Freo_summerholiday activity won Jacob and his family a Fremantle Rickshaw Co tour, an Endota Spa pamper and overnight stay at the Esplanade Hotel.

The activity is run multiple times a year as a way for Fremantle BID to give local businesses more visibility, asking children and their families to search for specific items within participating businesses to complete their treasure hunt.

Jacob’s mother Sandy said they were excited to have won the prize after completing the treasure hunt over two days.

“It was really beneficial because we saw so many businesses we didn’t know existed,” she said.

“We usually stay on the Cappuccino Strip and don’t venture into other parts of Fremantle.”

Another hunt is on the way, with Fremantle BID putting the finishing touches on the #Freo_easterhunt in April.

“There will be more great prizes on offer, free activities in Fremantle parks and a basket full of ‘eggsellent’ Fremantle businesses to discover,” Fremantle BID chair Karl Bullers said.
