Success resident Lewis Richards, a law and economics honours student at UWA, was recently elected as YMCA youth governor.

The role will see Lewis meet the elected Youth Parliament leaders and present speeches at the opening and closing ceremonies of Youth Parliament 2013, which takes place at Parliament House.

He will also have a private audience with the Governor of Western Australia when he presents the legislation created by the Youth Parliament in July.

Working with Cockburn MLA Fran Logan as a casual electorate officer, Lewis said he held future political aspirations.

‘My dream position would be the Foreign Affairs Minister, as I have studied international law and international trade,’ he said.

‘Outside of politics, I would like to work for the Australian Government as a representative to the United Nations or the World Trade Organisation.’
