The opening will see a range of activities demonstrated on the new facility, showcasing the different groups the plaza would be used by, including an all ages skate clinic from 10am, BMX, scooter, skate and parkour demonstrations, roller derby, kids entertainment and the reopening of the Dismantle workshop.
Fremantle Mayor Brad Pettitt said the area would also be family-friendly, with a ping-pong area, barbecues, a stage area for events and a leafy footpath link to the Fishing Boat Harbour.
‘It’s important that public spaces cater to residents of all ages and interests,’ he said.
‘Not only does this plaza offer exciting skate park and parkour facilities, but it also provides a great meeting place for young people and families.’
