OUR family was invited to attend the Anzac Sunset Service in Kings Park on April 21 to honour the life of Private George Walter of the 16th Battalion, 5th Reinforcement.
George lived in North Fremantle and was one of the 849 men who did not return home.
He was killed in the Battle of Mouquet Farm on the Western Front when he was 20 years old.
Two nieces, one great-niece and one great-nephew were privileged to lay a beautiful wreath on behalf of his extended family – 17 descendants who attended this wonderful, special occasion.
