Care was fantastic

Staff ReporterFremantle Gazette

WE hear so many criticisms of our hospital service these days that I want to share with your readers a wonderfully refreshing experience in Fremantle Hospital’s emergency department last week.

My elderly sister had an accident which lifted a large flap of skin from her shin.

Immediately, the triage nurse on duty attended to the leg.

Five minutes later, a young man appeared with a wheelchair and whisked us off.

While waiting, we were made to feel better as everyone who passed actually smiled!

I then realised I didn’t have my mobile with me and went to the front desk to ask if my niece could be contacted and the lady on duty went to a lot of trouble for me.

The nurses and doctors rallied around and about an hour and a half later, the resident doctor, Dwayne Chang, informed us in great detail what had been done and presented us with a full typed-up list to be shown to our doctor.

I am so impressed at the pleasant efficiency of everyone involved I just have to share it with you.
