Death trap at intersection

HOW long it will be until a pedestrian is killed on the corner of the Gwilliam Drive, Forrest Road and North Lake Road intersection.

What is it going to take to have Main Roads take the seriousness of this death trap?

My mother had a super close shave and almost was mowed down by a car as she got a green light to cross, so too have I and my daughter at least twice.

In our attempt to encourage a healthy lifestyle by walking to school, every weekday my 10-year-old daughter and I very nervously scramble to get across at least four lanes as turning vehicles come flying around a corner… they too have a green signal.

Wake up Main Roads! It seems to me that the continual flow of vehicles is more important than lives.

I am not the first to highlight this death trap. A school of around 500 children is positioned on this intersection corner and hardly anyone walks or rides to school because the poor pedestrian crossing system is “signposted” to kill as Main Roads continues to bury its head in the sand.
