IT was fantastic to see last week’s report about improvements made to the rail freight facilities that serve Fremantle Port.
I congratulate Ministers Nalder and Truss for this important investment in rail. If a paltry $65 million can make significant efficiency gains – just imagine what $1.6 billion could do to improve the efficiency and competitiveness of rail freight.
I encourage the State and Federal Transport Ministers to do a cost benefit analysis of both a road and rail upgrade scenarios before committing funds to the Freight Link project.
