Opinion: Article by reporter was meaningless

For some reason your paper chose to have an article under “Opinion” by a Jon Bassett, reporter.

This meaningless article seems to me to be a letter of the State Government again “testing the waters” – this time to sell off our wonderfully heritage-listed Royal Show.

Yes the Speedway was forced out to Kwinana where only those with cars can get to, so I never go there.

Yes, the Sydney Easter Show left its central location in Sydney and went out west and its current location is a disaster, being far too spread out for a family to get around without transport, whereas the old Sydney Show like the Perth Show were easy to get from A to B.

Jon Bassett can have no knowledge of country life and no interest in country life, so if he is speaking for the State Government he should point this out.
