War of words

Some people smugglers are probably good people and some are bad… that is my view. Nevertheless, they all enable refugees in Indonesia ” who are people like you and me ” to attempt to come to Australia.

The refugees know they may well die on the seas but decide to take that risk because it is very bad in Indonesia and conditions are even worse in their homelands.

I think the Government is happy for refugees to die on the high seas while making their way here to seek safety (asylum). If it cared, it would make sure the rescue efforts were speedy and effective.

It would be better if we allowed the refugees to fly here ” but we don’t. Better still if we picked them up in Indonesia and brought them here so the refugees don’t have to risk their lives or pay people smugglers ” but we don’t.
