CAPORN Young’s auction extravaganza ‘The Big Call’ was a huge success, selling more than $7.6 million worth of real estate in under 24 hours.
The October 29 event saw seven of 11 properties sold, including 5A Riverside Drive, East Fremantle and 20 Morriett Street, Attadale.
Caporn Young head of marketing Patricia Cheah said it was an action-packed day.
“An old church on 809sq m in Hill Street, South Perth attracted the most attention, with four bidders competing for the property,” she said.
Chief executive Richard Young said it was great to see the team out in the field doing the best by their clients.
“The auction process is a good way to sell, it’s a transparent process for both buyers and sellers,” he said.
“Buyers can see who their competition is and sellers know that people are there ready to buy.”
Mr Young said auctions were slowly but surely being embraced by a lot more buyers and sellers.
“We started this process seven years ago and it has taken that long to turn the tide,” he said.
November is traditionally one of the busiest months for auctions in Perth, with more than 200 booked last year.
Caporn Young already has 27 auctions booked for the month, including 10 scheduled for November 19 and 11 booked for November 26, and is expecting the momentum to continue into December.
