A NEW $115 million apartment and hotel development will deliver more residential and tourism options to Fremantle.
On the corner of Point and Adelaide streets, the SKS Group project will include 98 apartments and a 150-room, four-star DoubleTree by Hilton Fremantle Hotel.
Colliers International sales executives Samantha Ferraz and Ashlee Arnott are expecting strong interest for the Ancora apartments, which they said would deliver a new standard of accommodation for Fremantle’s expanding workforce.
“Around 1500 public servants working for three government departments will relocate to a new office building at Fremantle’s Kings Square in 2020 as part of the State Government’s move to decentralise jobs from Perth’s CBD,” Ms Arnott said.
“The arrival of these government departments will be a major boost to Fremantle’s working population and a catalyst for new investment.”
The project was designed by Box Architects.
Its red-brick facade will pay tribute to Fremantle’s industrial past and a bold shipping container mural will recognise Fremantle’s status as a working port.
The warehouse aesthetic will continue inside the one, two and three-bedroom apartments with spacious open plan-designs and a mix of contrasting textures and finishes.
Sliding balcony screens will provide shade and privacy while letting in the sea breeze.
The apartments will frame a resort-style pool and the building will also have a gym and a residents’ lounge.
“This project has the best of Fremantle on its doorstep and even the train station is just a short walk away so it will be hard to beat in terms of amenity,” Ms Ferraz said.
Prices start from $349,000 for a one-bedroom apartment, $520,000 for a two-bedroom apartment and $725,000 for a three-bedroom apartment.
