FREMANTLE’S iconic Spotlight building and Westgate Mall will receive a new lease of life as the Little Lane residential development.

The Yolk Property Group project at 52 Adelaide Street will include 70 apartments along with cafes and shops.

Director Pete Adams said it was the first significant residential development on Adelaide Street since the 1970s and the first in 10 years so close to Fremantle’s city centre.

“It’s exciting to bring this once popular spot back to life after decades of disrepair and under-utilisation,” he said.

“Westgate Mall will be transformed into Little Lane; the name and project design take inspiration from the former mall and it will be reborn alongside the apartments as a modern cafe and retail hot spot for residents and locals to enjoy, just as past generations did years ago.”

The project is 100m from Kings Square, which is undergoing a multi-million dollar redevelopment and, with Queen, Point and Adelaide streets also slated for future urban renewal projects, Mr Adams said it was perfectly poised to take full advantage of the redeveloped Fremantle.

The complex will be designed by Harris Architects with the interiors styled by Rezen Studios.

One, two-bedroom and three-bedroom residences will be available with prices starting from $359,000.

Construction is expected to start later this year. For more, visit www.littlelane.com.au or call Katherine Severn on 0438 904 494.
