THE Fremantle Dockers has secured its first big new names of the off-season, snaring the signature of Adelaide marquee player Kellie Gibson and Greater Western Sydney defender Alex Williams.

Gibson, who told the Crows she wanted to return home to WA after a successful 2017 premiership season, has signed with the Dockers as an unrestricted free agent while East Fremantle product Williams was also eager to return to WA for 2018.

Fremantle coach Michelle Cowan said she was happy to see the 20-year-old Gibson and 24-year-old Williams at the club.

“I think it’s great (Gibson) is coming back to WA,” she said.

“She’s an elite midfielder, with the ability to go forward and kick a couple of goals as well.

“She was a marquee player in the inaugural season and rightly so.

“Alex is a really exciting signing for us, she brings versatility to our team and she’s taken on some skilful key forwards in the 2017 AFLW season and played that role really well.”
