Age no obstacle to busselton jetty challenge

AGE will not get in the way of this group of swimmers tackling a swim around the longest jetty in the southern hemisphere this month.

Members of the Fremantle Masters Swimming Club will be doing the 3.6km open water swim as part of the 22nd Busselton Jetty Swim.

Club president Lucy Henry said it would be her third attempt at the event.

“The Busselton Jetty Swim 2015 was one of my first open water swim events,” she said.

“I struggled on a cool day and spent some time in the first aid recovering from hyperthermia.

“This experience taught me so much about myself and I’ve gained such a love of open water swimming that I’m going to be competing as a solo entrant in the 20-kilometre Port to Pub event two weeks after the Busselton Jetty Swim.”

The Busselton Jetty Swim is on February 12.
