Phoenix Cricket Club’s 1975/76 D Grade premiership team.

The club was formed by a group of Hamilton Hill friends in the spring of 1975.

It entered a side in the Fremantle Mercantile competition and won the D grade premiership with a team captained by former South Fremantle footballer Fred Seinor in 1975/76.

Many well known names have played for Phoenix including Maurice Rioli, Nicky Winmar, former Socceroos goalkeeper Robbie Zabica and former Australian lacrosse captain Jeff Kennedy.

A book called Arise Phoenix by life member Roy Gibson will be available to buy on Saturday. It details the history of the club.
