NATHAN Fyfe and Patrick Dangerfield are two of the biggest stars going around in Australian football.

With these two as role models, it is easy to see why Roan O’Hehir has been flagged as one to watch on the football field.

The Munster resident and CBC Fremantle student has been dubbed one of the best young footballers in the state, and was one of 20 selected to represent WA in the School Sports Australia 12 Boy’s football competition held in Queensland.

Roan said he loved playing football for South Coogee and was looking forward to taking his game to the next level.

“I enjoy it because I like the roughness of it and the speed, I get to see my friends and it keeps me fit and healthy,” he said.

“I watch AFL games carefully and see what they do and where they position themselves for certain situations.

“I cannot wait till the trip, it’s going to be a fantastic experience.

“I think we will do well and I hope we do well because we have a really good team.”

Lakelands Senior High School’s Taite Lantzke was also selected for the football girl’s 15 team.
