In their first finals appearance in eight years, Fremantle took on top-of-the-ladder Rockingham Mandurah in a semi-final at Port Kennedy’s Lark Hill Sports Complex, thrashing their opponents by 132 runs.
But it was not all smooth sailing for the Port Boys.
Winning the toss and electing to bat, Fremantle got off to a shaky start with a top order collapse that included losing big names Shaun Marsh and Ashton Turner for 15 and six runs respectively to be languishing at 7-124.
Enter number six Chris Chellow, who steadied the ship by smashing 112 runs, including 12 boundaries, to help steer Fremantle to 272 runs.

Rockingham-Mandurah looked out of sorts in reply, losing wickets steadily throughout the innings to be all out for 140, thanks to strong bowling from Jamie Heath, Joel Crosswell and Chellow, who took seven wickets between them.
Fremantle will take on Willetton in the preliminary final this weekend.
