Cripps best at Carlton: AFL

EAST Fremantle Sharks product Patrick Cripps capped a stellar season in the AFL by winning Carlton’s best and fairest award.

The second-year player claimed the John Nicholls Medal after polling 68 votes, one vote ahead of captain Marc Murphy and four more than defender Zach Tuohy.

The win came shortly after Cripps finished second to Jesse Hogan in the race for the NAB AFL Rising Star award.

Cripps finished the season averaging 24 disposals and seven clearances.
