FREMANTLE defender Tommy Sheridan has been picked in a provisional All-Australian team for players aged 22 or younger.

Sheridan joins the likes of Carlton’s Patrick Cripps, Bulldogs midfielder Marcus Bontempelli and Collingwood’s emerging forward Darcy Moore in the squad of 50 selected by the AFL Players’ Association Board.

Just two players from WA-based teams were selected, with Liam Duggan taking that honour for West Coast.

The final 22 will be picked by football fans, who can select their own squads online to decide the makeup of the 22Under22 team.

While Fremantle has struggled for wins, 2016 has proved fruitful for Sheridan.

Fremantle’s only selection in the squad has averaged a career-high 19 disposals across 20 games this year.

It is the most games he has played in one season since the Calder Cannons product made his debut in 2012.

Sheridan was taken with pick 16 in the 2011 national draft.

He played his 50th game against Port Adelaide in round 13.
