THE Fremantle Dockers have confirmed Peter Sumich will leave the club.

Sumich, who joined the Dockers from cross-town rivals West Coast in 2011, had worked as a development coach this season.

In a statement, football operations manager Chris Bond said the Dockers and Sumich mutually agreed to end the relationship before his contract expired in October.

“From the club’s perspective it provides us with an earlier opportunity to finalise our coaching structure for 2017,” Bond said.

“Peter brought a wealth of football knowledge and experience with him when he joined Fremantle in 2011 and has made a significant contribution to the progress and development of the club during the past five seasons.”
